By installing, accessing, or using AI Privacy Guard ("the Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Extension.

Description of Service

AI Privacy Guard is a free Chrome browser extension that provides real-time detection of sensitive information before you share it with AI services. The Extension:

• Scans text content locally on your device
• Detects potentially sensitive information (emails, phone numbers, API keys, etc.)
• Provides notifications when sensitive data is detected
• Operates entirely on your local device without data transmission

License and Usage Rights

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use AI Privacy Guard for personal and commercial purposes. You may:

• Install and use the Extension on devices you own or control
• Use the Extension to protect your privacy during AI interactions
• Uninstall the Extension at any time

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code (except as permitted by open source license)
• Use the Extension for any illegal or unauthorized purposes
• Attempt to disable, bypass, or interfere with security features
• Distribute malicious modifications of the Extension
• Use the Extension in ways that could harm our services or other users

Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is paramount to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. Key points:

Disclaimers and Limitations

Service Availability

The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

Detection Accuracy

While we strive for accurate detection of sensitive information, no automated system is perfect. The Extension may:

• Occasionally miss sensitive information (false negatives)
• Flag non-sensitive information as sensitive (false positives)
• Not detect all possible types of sensitive data

You remain responsible for reviewing content before sharing it with AI services.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ruthvick Poornachandra and AI Privacy Guard shall not be liable for any:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Data loss or privacy breaches due to Extension malfunction
• Damages resulting from false positives or false negatives in detection
• Business interruption or loss of profits

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Extension (which is zero, as it is free).

Intellectual Property

AI Privacy Guard is open source software. The specific terms of use, modification, and distribution are governed by our open source license available in our source code repository.

The AI Privacy Guard name, logo, and branding remain our intellectual property and may not be used without permission.

Updates and Modifications

We may update the Extension and these Terms from time to time. Updates to the Extension will be distributed through the Chrome Web Store. Continued use of the Extension after updates constitutes acceptance of any revised Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser. We may discontinue the Extension or your access to it at any time with or without notice.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Extension shall be resolved in the courts of Berlin, Germany.

Entire Agreement
